Massage is one of the oldest and simplest forms of therapy and has been used for centuries to induce the benefits of health and well-being. A system of stroking, pressing and kneading the soft tissues of the body, massage can be applied to either parts or to the whole body, to relieve muscle tension, ease psychological stress and improve circulation, among other benefits.
We offer a selection of massages, from traditional to contemporary, all of which can be tailored to your individual needs.
New! Warm Bamboo Massage
La Ruelle is excited to introduce this hottest new treatment, Warm Bamboo Massage, to Stranraer.
This unique massage involves using heated bamboo rods of various sizes to knead and roll out knots and relax tense muscles. The bamboo pieces are specially designed and treated to be the perfect tools for massage, which are heated on custom-made heating pads, which allow the rods to be warmed to the optimum temperature, thus enabling maximum retention of heat. Warm Bamboo Synergy Massage combines traditional benefits of massage along with the comforting qualities of heat, great to combat the effects of stress, relieves muscular tension, aids in lymphatic drainage and delivers an incredible sensation of relaxation and calm.

aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is essentially an interaction between the therapist, client and essential oils, working together to bring forth the healing energy which will help the client regain her sense of well- being and vitality. Essential oils have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits. The soothing combination of beautiful aromas and massage work to regulate, balance, heal and maintain.
In many cases backache, irritable bowel syndrome or headaches are the result of stress and not actually a physical problem. Therefore aromatherapy offers one of the finest ways of combating the ravages of stress without having to resort to drugs.
